Snowbird Winter Rentals

WHO ARE WE?
We are an informal bunch who have been  gathering for social times since 2000.  We have no dues or official structure, just a guy and his wife who enjoy pulling together the social activities...My Wife Tracy and I.

The New York State Snowbirds have formed an informal group of past and present "Empire State" residents who live year round or winter in South Baldwin County, the Perdido Key, or the greater Pensacola area. The participants are proud to promote their roots, representing all parts of the state: The Big Apple, Long Island, Hudson Valley, Catskills, Capital District, Adirondacks, St. Lawrence Region, Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, Genesee Valley, Niagara Region, etc. Their common thread is the love of a warm climate, the supportive, friendly environment, and the lasting relationships found here in the Florida-Alabama Gulf Coast, and the lack of interest in the winter weather of their northern home state.

New York Snowbirds Return for Winter 2008

The New York Snowbirds shall return to the beautiful Alabama-Florida Gulf Coast with great expectations for another wonderful winter.  We are pleased that our winter “home” has escaped the wrath of hurricane season for the second year in a row, and that progress to return and improve upon its previous glory has not been slowed.  We look forward to filling the shops, restaurants, churches, and golf courses, and to our reunions with fellow snowbirds and condo friends.

We are saddened to share with fellow NY Snowbirds that one of our special activity coordinators will not be with us.  Dick Cooper, previously of Rochester, NY, recently residing year round in Fairhop/Quail Creek with his wife Maryanne, passed away suddenly in October.  But, others have jumped in to fill his shoes on the golf outings and Brat Fest/Pancake Breakfast committees.  In addition, Dorothy Wilmot passed away in April, 3 weeks after returning home from her 18th wonderful winter at the Gulf.  We will have many toasts to Dort and Dick this winter.

We look forward to enjoying a full social calendar.

Our first luncheon will be Thursday, January 10th, at Zekes, in Orange Beach.  We will gather at 11 a.m. for registration and social time, commencing our luncheon at 12:00PM.  Cost is estimated to be $12 per person, which includes a vast and varied buffet, beverage, dessert, tax, gratuity, and amenities.  Reservation required to Frank and Tracy Panczyszyn not later than 3 days prior to the luncheon at 1-251-981-8853 here will be door prizes and, hopefully, entertainment.  Luncheons will also be on Thursdays, January 24th, February 7th and 21th, and March 6th.
