BaptistFlight

Worried about medical emergency care while in the area? BaptistFlight of Pensacola  provides safe, rapid transportation of those who are critically ill or injured, while delivering the highest quality medical care. Baptist Hospital proudly provides this important service to our community.

One of America's First
In 1977 Baptist Hospital established the third hospital-based helicopter program in the United States. Operating 24 hours a day. BaptistFlight can be airborne within minutes of a call, traveling at speeds in excess of 130 miles per hour. This significantly reduces the transport time of critically ill patients, either from a transferring hospital or from the scene of an emergency.

The BaptistFlight Team
The BaptistFlight Communications Center is the core of the BaptistFlight team. Dispatchers, who are themselves certified emergency medical technicians (EMTs), work behind the scenes coordinating vital information and resources. Four pilots and a full-time mechanic have been specifically selected for the BaptistFlight team bases on their extensive experience and ability.

On board BaptistFlight a registered nurse with paramedic certification and a certified paramedic use their skills to help treat critically ill patients. Both of these crew members are highly skilled in the care of trauma, medical and pediatric patients and have worked a number of years in emergency services.
