Craft Farms, Gulf

Honours Golf Adds Craft
Farms to its Portfolio
Birmingham, AL - Honours Golf
Company announces that it has purchased
Craft Farms Golf Resort in Gulf Shores,
Alabama. The transaction includes two
18-hole championship golf courses –
Cotton Creek Golf Club and Cypress Bend
Golf Course. Honours Golf currently
owns and manages two other golf courses
in the local area - Peninsula Golf and
Racquet Club located in Gulf Shores,
Alabama and Rock Creek Golf Club located
in Fairhope, Alabama. Craft Farms will
be the thirteenth golf facility owned
and/or managed by Honours Golf.
“We seek to align
with golf courses that share our common
vision for quality and our passion for
golf,” stated Honours Golf CEO, Bob
Barrett. “The Craft Family has built and
established a solid reputation for two
of the finest courses along the Gulf
Coast. And, the location provides us
the opportunity to offer a variety of
premier golf experiences and golf
packages to local golfers and visitors
to the Gulf Shores area. The
combination of these traits makes Craft
Farms the perfect complement to our
growing portfolio.”
Craft Farms Golf
Resort was originally established in
1987 by the Craft Family. It features
Alabama's only Arnold Palmer Signature
Design Courses – Cotton Creek Golf Club
and Cypress Bend Golf Course. The
concept of the golf courses was
initiated by R.C. Craft who intended to
use part of his
sod farm land to build a golf course. He
and his son, Robert Craft, sought out
golf legend, Arnold Palmer, to build
their golf course and help
put Gulf Shores on the map as one of the
nation’s best golfing destinations.
Cotton Creek, the
first Palmer designed course, offers a
traditional layout with tree-lined
rolling fairways, large undulating
greens, and well-positioned bunkers.
This golf course offers numerous
risk/reward opportunities; however, it
can be quite challenging at times with
over 7,000 yards to play from the tips.
Cotton Creek has been host to numerous
tournaments including Alabama’s State
Amateur.
Rated 4 ˝ stars by Golf Digest,
Cypress Bend offers a dramatically
different golfing experience than its
sister course. As the newer of the two
Palmer courses, it features a more
forgiving resort-style layout with wide
fairways, vast landing areas, large
undulating greens and a unique system of
lakes that comes into play on every
hole.
At the
center of Craft Farms is the Cotton
Creek Clubhouse which is reminiscent of
the coastal and plantation style homes
of the South. Overlooking the 18th
hole and lake, this 20,000 square foot
building features the Palmer Dining
Room, the Cotton Creek Grill and Craft
Farms Lounge. It also provides a 2,000
square foot meeting room and a board
room that can accommodate up to 20
people. In addition, Craft Farm offers
a full service golf shop, locker rooms,
and resort-style swimming pool. Onsite
accommodations are available at the
Cypress Point Condominiums and the
90-room Courtyard by Marriott.
